Sparrow is Flying





Hi Friends

 

Following prep of 8 applique blocks at last month's getaway I've stitched every chance I could and below is the result!

Little Sparrow (design by Susan Smith) is together but still has some finishing touches by way of a little embroidery for sparrow beaks and legs as well as detail in a few leaves & flowers.

 

I started this quilt at Summer School 2010 - 7 Years Ago!!

Simply...Done!!

Simply Red

Another Show & Tell from me, Simply Red, a Karen Cunningham design is finally finished - and currently residing on my bed. Thankyou to Susan Smith once again for the fabulous quilting, which without Simply Red would remain unfinished for some time.

The centre of Simply Red is needle turned using the one fabric from French General Rounnierres...my absolute favourite. The border is also a French General fabric.

This quilt was actually a few firsts for me. 1st time to a quilting workshop, 1st time at Summer School in Wodonga, 1st time for needle turning.....I've managed a little more since then.

I will try & make the time to post some updates as I go....anymore Finishes maybe a little while off.

Simply Red

Two years almost to the date & I have completed the top of Simply Red: a pattern by Karen Cunningham. I used French General Rouenneries because I just love that fabric! This was my first Needleturn project which we commenced at Summer School 2010 in Wodonga. Now to think about quilting...

We enjoy reading everyone else’s blogs so thought we’d give it a go. We hope you enjoy our journey, some would say Obsession.

We met through patchwork just over 3 years ago; a friendship meant to be.

Our passion is Reproduction quilts & William Morris. We love to get away for workshops & classes, or just catch up over a glass of wine and talk about life, patchwork and our patchwork plans.  Life, however, has a habit of interferring with our plans.

On QWE we want to share our works on the go: between us that could be a little scary. And of course any that we finish...oops, that’s our “F” word!
