Torrington Complete

Hi All

Just a quick little post to share photos of a finished Torrington Park - the Quiltmania 2017 Mystery Quilt by Michele Yeo. Mine is very different from the Original and contains only 9 of the 13 Blocks.

I used the Quilt as You Go Method (a first) and am very happy with the result

It will be gifted to a beautiful friend in the coming months for her birthday

2018 Here We Go!

Hi All
Well Christmas has been and gone again and here we are in 2018 - its the summer heat in Australia and we all all feeling it.

These are my blocks from Torrington Place by Michelle Yeo, the Quiltmania 2017 Mystery Quilt. 9 Blocks is it for me ( i think there are 13). Onto the quilting now which I'm doing the Quilt as You Go method to complete. I used an app to play with how I will place them - what a good idea!!

Christmas

This year I really wanted to bring the Christmas Spirit to our home as its been missing for some time. I made a lot of the decorations which was heaps of fun, I plan on adding some more for this year. What a difference some lights make - and they were all battery operated including the candles! I finished my little stitcheries too and had them on display. We had my family over for Christmas Dinner which was lovely, our whole Christmas was very peaceful.

Mim's Precious Girl
I had a visit to the NSW East Coast prior to Christmas to see my Girls. My Granddaughter has grown so much and is a real little personality. Its hard to believe she's almost 2.

Enjoying some morning sunshine before the heat hits

Today a spot of quilting & stitching was on order. JulieAnn & I doing our best to avoid the extreme heat which was 44+degrees Celsius where we are; that is our usual summer.

So here we go into 2018, Cheers! It's a big one for me when I say I Do to my Extremely Beautiful Man (who even cooked us lunch today). He's a good catch ;0)

Time: Where Art Thou!

Hi All

Just a little post to say hello because its been ages!! My time gets away and it would seem not slowing down anytime soon.

Stitching progress has been slow; but progress none the less.

Eyton Hall has been joined & papers removed. I'm now onto making more hexies for the border section - which will also be all hexagons. Yes I really am doing that!!

Torrington Park the Quiltmania Mystery Quilt by Michelle Yeo has been in the works too, I'm way behind with only 3 blocks completed. We were extremely fortunate to meet Michelle in Sydney.

On Sunday I decided it was time to get onto something I'd purchased from Cutting Cloth at the Sydney Quilt Show (our last blog post). Making this beautiful pillow case with crocheted edge; the fabric is divine and the crochet edge the sweetest. How lovely for the Pfaff to get a change from mending!

Cotton Crochet Edge - a new skill for me

Next on the agenda is a couple of little Christmas Stitcheries - I'm trying to gear up to being in the Spirit. Something that has been missing the last few years.

JulieAnn & I are having a sewing weekend in November; managing to go away without leaving town! I can't wait; we'll definitely post an update.

Well that's about it for today; hello from Angus too

Take Care &
Happy Stitching
